AGM 2013 - Key dates

Notice of the AGM has been posted (Friday 4th January) work is now being undertaken to get the Annual Report edited and then printed.

By the 12th February 2013 the Annual Report and Accounts containing the agenda for the AGM, a notice of any resolutions and nominees for election of Captain and Vice Captain will be circulated those that are on e-mail will receive it accordingly. Hard copies will be available for collection from the office and a copy will be available to view and download on the member’s area of the website.

  • This year there are no resolutions from the Committee to seek the member’s approval
  • The Committee will be asking members to elect Allan Hutchins as Captain and the Graham Wilkin as Vice Captain
  • Under the rules we will be seeking to elect 2 ordinary members for the post of Committee member for a term of 3 years (Committee Nomination forms are available from the Club Office)
  • All completed nomination forms must be received in the Club office by 5pm on the 27th of February

On 27th February 2013 we will know who the nominees are who have decided to stand for Committee and details will be posted on the website and notice boards in order for members to vote for should there be a requirement for a ballot.

Anyone wishing to vote by internet (page will be available on website) or by post (form from Club office) must have done so by 5pm on March 12th If a ballot is required for Committee election all votes received by post or internet will be counted independently and will be added to those received on the night of the AGM by those attending personally.

At the AGM on the 14th March 2013 the election of the Captain, Vice Captain and the two new committee members will be held

The introduction of internet and postal voting does make the democratic process of voting more available to a greater number of members, but please if you can, try and make it along to the AGM. The bar will be open before and after the meeting and I see no reason why we cannot find time at the end of the evening to answer any questions you have, it will also be another opportunity to meet the new committee members, and welcome in the new Club Captain!

Hope to see you there on the night but if you have any questions about information being circulated beforehand then please just pop in to my office for a chat and hopefully I can answer any questions you may have. A full copy of the Club Rules & Bye-Laws which explains all the rules around committee election and general meetings is available to view in the “Club Documents” page of the member’s area of our website – Click here
